Welcome to South Bank Engineering University Technical College, a brand new and innovative technical school for students aged 14–19.
This University Technical College specialises in Engineering, particularly in the building and medical sectors. South Bank Engineering UTC provides a distinctive blend of academic and technical learning, offering high standards but in a practical environment. The UTC is based in the heart of Brixton, with excellent transport links to central London and elsewhere. The UTC is sponsored by London South Bank University and is co-sponsored by world-leading employers from the health and building sectors: Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Essentia Trading Limited, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Skanska UK Plc, and many more.
The UTC offers a new concept in education, giving young people the opportunity to learn valuable technical and employability skills and to gain technical qualifications alongside core subjects including English, mathematics and science. As well as studying their curriculum, students participate in employer-led projects, giving them the opportunity to experience a business-like working environment. The multi-million pound UTC building will incorporate state of the art technology and offer a unique working environment when we move in during September 2017.
The UTC is an inspirational place to study. There is support available to make sure students from all backgrounds and with individual needs are able to thrive. The UTC day mirrors a typical business day, with long hours of teaching and in-built personal study, but little conventional homework. The UTC employs outstanding teaching and specialist staff to make sure students receive the best teaching and support available throughout their stay at the UTC.
