Opportunities for 14–16 year-olds

Students who enter South Bank Engineering UTC can look forward to experiencing an innovative and exciting way of studying.

The UTC curriculum will allow students to develop personal skills as well as academic and technical knowledge, with all of our work designed to allow our students to develop the skills to make them highly employable.

Lessons will be practical and will include workshops, scientific investigations in laboratories and using technology to solve problems or to design solutions.

Students will work on core GCSEs as in other secondary schools. These would include English, Maths, Science and Computer Sciences, along with a BTEC and option subjects, along with professional qualifications on offer as enrichment.

South Bank Engineering UTC will offer a project-based curriculum developed with a range of employer sponsors to provide real life skills to our students alongside the subject knowledge. Our students will be required to undertake their own research in evolving innovative solutions.

Within the South Bank Engineering UTC all students will be assigned a learning coach in their learning group.
